SUE LONGMORE – LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT BA DipLA CMLI

Sue Longmore is a fully qualified Landscape Architect and is a Chartered Member of The Landscape Institute (CMLI). Her portfolio spans high-profile commercial and exclusive residential landscapes.

Sue’s career began as part of the team working on Stockley Park, then she worked in prestigious architectural firms across Australia and Hong Kong, where she contributed to landmark masterplan projects including Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park and public parks in Hong Kong including Feng Shui considerations. After establishing herself at a practice in Kingston Upon Thames, she founded Querk Landscape Architecture in Richmond, designing public and private landscapes. Sue also shared her expertise as a visiting design tutor in the Landscape Architecture Department at Kingston University.

Sue now works in Dorset on private commissions taking on 3 to 4 projects at a time. She has extensive experience of working through from exciting concept design to high quality completion on the ground. Many of her projects are on properties with unique considerations such as scheduled monument status or planning restrictions such as a subterranean property in the New Forest.

Sue’s talent lies in visionary concept design and masterplanning, maintaining design integrity throughout the implementation process including structures, hardworks and planting design. She has worked with artists and within multi disciplinary teams on very large-scale projects but has also worked at a micro scale on front gardens. Her distinctive work has been showcased in publications, has won awards and has featured on television.

Bold design concepts define Sue’s signature style, seamlessly blending contemporary elements with timeless classics to create functional, interactive and emotive spaces. This design philosophy is illustrated in her contemplative design for the listed College Farmhouse in Pewsey and the roof garden designed for the Organix Baby Brand.

Sue’s design process begins with in depth client engagement and research, challenging conventional thinking to develop landscapes that owners proudly showcase. Over the last few years she has been working with her son Ollie who has a Masters in Architecture.
